About This Camp
Have fun this summer while learning and practicing your Spanish! This camp is for entering and current Middle School students who want to build their Spanish language skills, improve speaking confidence, and prepare for their Spanish placement test.
Campers will be encouraged to speak in Spanish throughout the day, actively engaging in listening, writing, and speaking activities through fun activities such as games, singing, outdoor engagements, arts and crafts, and more to reinforce language learning.
Students will build and strengthen their foundation in Spanish grammar. They will learn different study strategies to acquire vocabulary and to prepare for assessments. Not only will students improve their confidence and enhance their Spanish communication skills, they also will be assured a successful and stress-free year in their next Spanish class.
Students can participate in one or two weeks of camp. The second week will build on the learning from the first week.
Open to campers, boys and girls ages 11-13.

Cecilia Figueroa is a native Spanish speaker from Los Ángeles, Chile. She is currently a Middle School Spanish teacher at San Domenico where she has taught since 2016. Prior to SD, Cecilia taught Spanish at various private schools in California, Massachusetts, and Colorado. Teaching has helped Cecilia acquire a better understanding of language instruction and develop teaching techniques to provide opportunities for students to explore and exercise multiple intelligence, enabling new language skills to emerge naturally.
In addition to teaching, Cecilia leads tour groups in her home country of Chile, and guides kayak and paddleboard tours in Bolinas Lagoon, where she enjoys spending her free time near the ocean.
