Art in Nature Camp
Children will explore the connections between art and nature on San Domenico's beautiful campus. This camp will be about finding inspiration in nature and exploring nature through art making. Fun and engaging activities will include plein air painting, using natural materials in weaving, and making paint from natural materials.
Monday - Friday | June 18 - 22, 2018 | 9:00 am - 12:00 pm | Grades K - 5
Cost is $250 per week.
Evelyn earned her B.S. in Art Education from Florida International University in Miami, Fl., as well as full professional certification in Art K-12 from the Florida Department of Education. After graduation, she taught Lower and Middle School art for seven years at Pine Crest Preparatory School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She earned an M.Ed. in Curriculum & Instruction, Art Education, and subsequently taught Elementary Education majors art integration as an adjunct instructor. She has worked in a museum education department in the U.A.E., taught art to children in the Caribbean, and volunteered with ESL students in the Bay area. Evelyn returns to the area from spending the last year in Miami and teaching at Gulliver Preparatory School. In 2016, Evelyn joined the faculty and staff at San Domenico as the Lower School Art teacher. Outside of school, she enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time outdoors with her husband and two children.
