Beyond our extensive facilities, our 16 residential faculty (RFs) are pivotal in their role as mentors and role models to all of our boarding students. Whether you come to SD from across the world or around the corner, you will find yourself surrounded by faculty who quickly become your SD family. Our expertly trained RFs support students academically in our mandatory nightly study halls and provide rich programming for students beyond the school day. There is always something fun available on campus, from sports games to music to hiking or theatrical productions. While there is never a shortage of activities, the most memorable part of boarding at SD is the support and connections with classmates and residential faculty alike.

With health and safety as our top priority, our campus nurse and a school counselor are available to all of our students as they grow and navigate adolescence and boarding life. Additionally, our campus gates are locked every night at 10:00 pm, and 24-hour on-site security is present 7 days a week. All dorms are locked 24-hours a day, with card access entry for residents only.
