Join us for our first Virtuoso Program Orchestra da Camera concert of 2019! Sunday, February 10th's program at 3:00 pm in the Carol Franc Buck Hall of The Arts honors our history, our present, and looks towards the future of instrumental string music. Featuring works by pioneering and contemporary women composers Erin Busch, Jennifer Margaret Barker, and Natalie Williams, and capped off with Antonín Dvořák's sublime Serenade in E Major, Op. 22, this afternoon of music by our school's most accomplished students is guaranteed to delight and move you. Admission is free but reserved seats are strongly recommended: firstname.lastname@example.org or 415-258-1921. A reception with the musicians hosted by our parent host committee follows the performance.
We are offering a special concert opportunity for Lower School students and their families to "sit in" with the orchestra on Thursday, February 14, at 3:20 pm! Along with our Upper School Sinfonia and members of our Middle School Strings ensemble, Lower School students are invited to sit alongside the musicians on stage to experience music from the inside. After the short concert, our student musicians will present an instrument "petting zoo" for children to see what it's like to play a variety of instruments on their own. A sweet treat for Valentine's Day!
