San Domenico School News & Events

SD for Literacy!

Dear SD Families,

We are thrilled to share the launch of our first K-12 collaboration to support literacy equality in Marin! During the week of April 1-5, San Domenico will be hosting a series of coordinated events to provide access and funds for books for students at Hamilton School. We will also be donating books and funds to the Global Book Exchange, a non-profit in Terra Linda that collects and distributes books to those who don’t have access to them. Keep an eye out for more information about how you can get involved and support equity in literacy in Marin, the Global Book Exchange, and Hamilton School. Here is what's happening...

SD for Literacy! Kick-Off Party at Book Passage

Tuesday, April 2
5:30 to 8:30 pm
Book Passage in Corte Madera
Dinner, Dessert, and Music

Dine on pizza and salads by Tamalpie, ice cream donated by Three Twins, and enjoy performances by our Upper School Virtuoso Program and band, Jojo and the Moon! On this night, and all week April 1 - 5, Book Passage will donate 20% of ALL San Domenico purchases to Hamilton School for their classroom libraries.

SD for Literacy Book Drive

Monday - Friday, April 1 - 5
San Domenico Campus

Bring in books for donation! Along with our student body community, parent volunteers will be collecting your used children’s and young adult books (in good condition please), on campus. Not only will these books be distributed to those who might otherwise not have access, but donating them will also reduce waste. Please send books in paper or reusable grocery bags, or small boxes for easy transport. Donations may be left under the awnings at the bus and Lower School drop off spots.
