Get a Handle on Those Social Media Heavy Hitters
Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat are old news, right? Well, it's true they've been around for a minute, but with extensive updates and fresh features, there's always something new for parents to know.
For instance, the livestreaming options add another way for kids to interact with followers that may not be safest for those with public accounts. And "click to buy" links or "swipe up" features that lead kids to products and services open another layer of consumerism. And with all of them vying for attention (even though Facebook owns Instagram), they're always adding elements that look eerily similar to other apps, like disappearing messages or short videos. So it's good to keep tabs on the ol' staples of social media to stay up on what your kid might be up to after the last update.
