Fall Sports Award Ceremony 2019

Women’s Varsity and JV Volleyball, Women’s Tennis, Men’s and Women’s Cross Country, Sailing Team celebrated end of the season with Upper School Assembly.

The Tamara A. Valley Athletic Center was buzzing for the Fall Sports Recognition Assembly, as the entire Upper School student body, and many of the faculty, filled the gym. Coaches gave overall honorings, as well as individual MVP, Most Improved, and Coaches Awards.
The Sailing Team was recognized first, honoring their 10th place finish out of 30 teams. The coed team sails out of the San Francisco Yacht Club in Tiburon, and is in its second year.
Varsity and Junior Varsity Volleyball, led by director Olivia Urban, made great strides with their level of competing, and are ready to turn the corner with more wins come next fall. Oliva praised the work ethic, teamwork, and resolve of both teams.
Tennis Director Rob Jessen honored his Women's Varsity and JV Teams, and celebrated the player’s toughness and team spirit.
Men's and Women's Varsity Cross Country, led by Coaches Mark and Mary Churchill and Melissa Nestel were the final teams recognized. Coach Nestel gave a heartfelt speech about the growth of the number of runners and their improved individual times. The Men's Team, along with sophomore Heidi Meier, head to the NCS Championships in Hayward on November 23.
Winter sports are kicking off and we hope to see you at our upcoming basketball and soccer games.
