Being Smart About Artificial Intelligence
Smart toys, assistants, and bots—oh, my! We hear more and more about artificial intelligence and see it at work in our daily lives. While the most common current reason for its use is convenience, are there aspects of AI we should consider, especially around our kids?
Whenever our kids are using devices—including digital assistants and smart home speakers—it's a smart move to think about privacy: What data does the device collect? Is it stored and shared? Once you've made an informed decision, you can find the solid stuff so your kids are accessing the best content possible. And it's helpful to think about how you want your kid to use it and what your rules will be so you have control of the genie before letting it out of the bottle.
