Coach Steph Buechner is a full-time faculty member at San Domenico, working in the Middle School as a P.E. teacher. She is also the Head Coach and Program Director of the Girls' Varsity Basketball team. In addition to the varsity team, she also coaches CYO teams for SD and runs elite level teams in the fall and spring off seasons.
During her time at San Domenico, Coach Buechner has made three league championship game appearances with her varsity team, has had two winning seasons, with an overall record of 50-32, and has taken her team to Kona, Hawaii for a World Youth Basketball Tournament in the 2016/2017 season where they went 4-1, and got second place in their division, beating teams from Hawaii, and Canada.
Coach Buechner's 6A girls CYO team won the championship in the 2017/2018 season with an undefeated record of 10-0.
Coach Buechner has a 2.5 year old daughter named Jaelyn, and her husband is the assistant Baseball Coach at the Santa Rosa Junior College. Outside of coaching, she enjoys spending time with her family, running, hiking, and horses. She still plays basketball whenever she can, and is a huge fan of the Warriors, Giants, and Cubs.
