Dear SD Boarding Families,

I hope this communication finds you well during these trying times for all of us. I am writing to share a few updates with you, as we continue to educate, support, and engage our students in learning remotely.

We understand that some students are experiencing anxiety and uncertainty about their transition away from life on San Domenico’s campus. Please rest assured that we recognize students will need time to adjust to new time zones and will likely need time to catch up on class work that they have missed due to travel. Our teachers will work with students to help them catch up. Additionally, the upcoming Spring Break (April 6-April 14) will provide an opportunity for students to spend time on any missed work so they are not behind when classes resume after break.

We are finalizing our International Distance Learning Plan, which will provide students and families with resources and guidelines specifically focused on learning remotely from another country and in another time zone. I will be able to share this next week.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions or concerns. I also encourage students to reach out directly to their teachers or to me with any questions.

Lastly, I want to reiterate what our SD Leadership Team shared in an earlier communication this week: during this uncharted time, every day brings new news, new challenges, and new opportunities. Through creativity, compassion, patience, and empathy - for each other as well as ourselves - we will not only get through this together, but also, continue to graduate inspired students equipped to create a better world.

Whether on campus or across the globe, you are part of our SD family and learning community.

All the best,

Kate Reeser
