Dear San Domenico Families, Below is an update from Marin Public Health Officer, Matt Willis, M.D M.P.H., on the novel coronavirus, COVID-19. I also want to assure you that we continue to take proactive steps to keep our SD community healthy, from both the flu and the novel coronavirus. As a boarding and day school with international students as well as local families who travel internationally quite regularly, we are working closely with Dr Willis and the Marin County Public Health Office, who is in ongoing contact with the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Together with our SD Leadership Team, we are following their expert advice and working collaboratively as new information becomes available. During this February break, for example, we kept our dorms open for students who may have otherwise traveled home had this virus had not developed. We appreciate your commitment to educated inquiry, as we together make educated decisions about this quickly-evolving situation being widely - and not always accurately - covered in the media. The health and safety of all of our children and community members is our number one priority and your partnership is critical to our success. Toni Scott MSN., RN.
