Dear New SD Parents and Guardians,

One of the many hallmarks of a San Domenico experience is the breadth and depth of support you and your family will experience here. From our Directors, to your Advisors, Mentors, Coaches, Teachers, Counselors and Learning Support Specialists, you truly have a team who is now part of this next chapter in your child’s educational journey and development as a young person. We are pleased to share some updates to our organizational structure that will further enhance our mission to provide exceptional education and a sense of purpose.

Our current Middle School Director, Carrie Robley, will be moving into a newly-created position as our Assistant Head for Student Life, K-12. In this role, Carrie will be working with program directors to oversee performing arts, health services, our boarding program, and our athletic program. She will also partner with our school level directors to support a thriving student environment from Kindergarten through 12th grade.

LeaAnne Parlette will be our new Director of Lower and Middle School and we are in the process of hiring an Associate Director of Lower School. This change will allow for greater continuity of program experience for parents and students, K-8. Mark Churchill will become our Associate Director of Middle School.

Kate Reeser will continue as Director of Upper School and Assistant Head for Academics, K-12.

We have hired a new Director of Design, Engineering, and Educational Technology, Jennifer Cronan Flinn, most recently from the Bay School in San Francisco. Jennifer brings with her a wealth of knowledge, not only from her time spent as the Dean of Technology at Bay, but also from her many years as a part of the Education Technology Team at Marin Country Day School. We are excited to welcome Jennifer to our Technology Team as we expand and deepen our commitment to STEAM!

Lastly, in our continued work to increase a culture of diversity and inclusivity, we are expanding one of Kali Baird’s current roles as Co-chair of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee into a full-time position as Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. In this role, Kali will continue to support our San Domenico families, students and teachers in strengthening our commitment towards the advancement of an inclusive community.

We know that learning happens both in and outside of the classroom; in arts, athletics, the integration of day and boarding students, and in all the extracurricular activities that promote the development of character. In keeping with our SD2021 Strategic Plan, our goal is to make sure all of these areas are more fully supported, which the above changes will do.

Below you will find contact information for the above-mentioned team members, as well as additional contacts whom you may find of help as you settle in and become acquainted with your new SD family.
