Music Conservatory Community School
The Music Conservatory offers a wide array of options for adults and children who are not enrolled at San Domenico School through our Community School. Whether a student is just beginning an instrument, or is at an advanced level, faculty work to place the student in lessons and ensembles that serve the student's musical needs. Participants in the Music Conservatory’s programs perform in recitals throughout the school year.
Private lessons are offered at every level in violin, viola, cello, bass, and guitar. String players at intermediate and advanced levels are encouraged to sign up for a small chamber ensemble, and are placed in a trio, quartet, or quintet that has a weekly coaching session and rehearsal.
Private piano lessons are offered for students at every level. The Piano Honors Program is an additional option for pianists who wish to commit themselves to a more rigorous course of study including participation in the Certificate of Merit exam and Honors Recitals.
Community School students who take piano lessons either at San Domenico or with an outside teacher are invited to sign up for a Piano Duo. Students may sign up with a friend or be placed with a student at an equivalent level. Each duo has a weekly coaching and a rehearsal—the only requirement for duo piano duo participation is that the student takes private lessons either at the San Domenico Music Conservatory or from an outside teacher.
Private lessons are offered at every level in flute, oboe, clarinet, and saxophone.
Woodwind players at intermediate and advanced levels are encouraged to sign up for a small chamber ensemble to be placed in a trio, quartet, or quintet that has a weekly coaching and a rehearsal.
Private lessons are offered in voice for Community School students at every level.
The Music Conservatory instructors are professionally trained musicians who are eager to pass on their extensive knowledge and passion for music.
