Katherine Theiss-Nyland 2002 has been named President of the Alumni Council.

A dedicated leader in global public health and infectious disease research, Katherine brings over two decades of international leadership, scientific expertise, and service to the alumni community. Her career began in the Peace Corps in Malawi, where she focused on community health services and HIV/AIDS prevention. She has since led critical health initiatives worldwide, holding roles with the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) in Ethiopia, the World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva, and the Oxford Vaccine Group.

Katherine holds a PhD in Infectious Disease Epidemiology and currently leads a vaccine research group at GSK in London. Outside of her professional work, she is married and the proud parent of two children. She is an avid traveller and a rescue diver.

As Alumni Council President, Katherine is committed to strengthening connections across graduating classes, fostering mentorship opportunities, and supporting the school’s ongoing mission.
 

Brian Chase (MS) 1997 is a public affairs strategist with more than twenty years of experience advising Fortune 500 companies, state governments, and a wide range of municipalities on issues pertaining to economic development, public safety, natural resource conservation, and digital infrastructure investment.

He earned a Master of Public Administration (MPA) with a Graduate Certificate in Homeland Security and Public Policy from the University of Southern California, where he also received a Bachelor of Science in Public Policy, Management, and Planning with an Academic Minor in Cinema-Television.

Brian enjoys historical literature and screenwriting, tennis and sailing, and volunteering in local civic affairs, currently serving as Chairman of the Belvedere-Tiburon Joint Recreation Committee in Marin County, as well as Chairman of the Speakers Committee of the Sacramento Seminar in San Francisco.

Caroline Ackley 2010 is a neuroscientist with a PhD in Molecular Biology from UC Santa Barbara. She recently completed her postdoctoral training at UC San Francisco, where she studied the biology of neurodegeneration, and she is now exploring opportunities to pursue her passion for teaching and science communication. Caroline is thrilled to have reconnected with so many former classmates, teachers, and other community members since moving back to her hometown of San Anselmo in 2023. She looks forward to serving as a Co-Chair of the Alumni Connect subcommittee and to supporting the growing network of San Domenico alums. 
 

After graduating from the Upper School in 2009, Leonora (Nora) Dalipi 2009 lived in Washington, D.C. before making her home in Toronto, where she earned her MBA from the University of Toronto. Over the years, she has built a career in organizational strategy and corporate operations, and today leads Potential Consulting. As a fractional People Operations strategist, she works directly with founders and executives of growth-stage tech companies across North America to build high-performing hiring systems, clear team structures, and scalable HR infrastructure.

Alyza DelPan-Monley 2007 (they/them) is a performer, director and choreographer. They have collaborated with MALACARNE/Alice Gosti, DONNA/Cherdonna Shinatra, Emmy Smith-Stewart & Jeffrey Azevedo, Will Rawls, and Morgan Thorson. They are currently working on a fashion, sustainability and movement project Wiggle Room with their collaborator Janelle Abbott of JRAT. Their movement direction and choreography has been presented at Cafe Nordo, Washington Ensemble Theatre, Seattle Children’s Theatre, Book-It Repertory, Strawshop Theatre, On the Boards, Cornish College of The Arts, Seattle University, Noveltease Theatre and Theatre Battery, and the 5th Avenue Theatre. In 2023 they served as Velocity Dance Center’s Curating Artist in Residence. They have been awarded artistic residencies at Base:Experimental Arts + Space, Open Flight and Mini Mart City Park. They are a writer for SeattleDances and on the board of Washington Ensemble Theatre.

Hannah Fitzpatrick 2006 is an academic at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. After graduating from San Domenico, she attended Barnard College, where she developed a passion for history and archival research. She moved to the UK in 2010, completing her MA at SOAS and her PhD at the University of St Andrews. Her first book, Mapping Partition: Politics, Territory and the End of Empire in India and Pakistan, was published in 2024. In her free time, she enjoys hiking with her dog and participating in community theatre in Edinburgh.

Sarah Lee 2007 is a tenured Associate Professor at Dominican University of California, where she teaches leadership, organizational behavior, and cross-cultural management at the undergraduate and MBA levels. She earned her B.A. in Psychology and Music from the University of California, Berkeley, and her Ph.D. in Organizations and Management from Emory University. Her research sits at the intersection of social psychology and business, with a particular focus on leadership, DEI, mindfulness, and human flourishing in organizations.

Sarah is also a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-500) and a certified mindfulness meditation instructor (MMTCP), where she trained with Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach. She teaches yoga and meditation throughout Marin County. Sarah was a Virtuoso Program student at San Domenico, and is completing her Professional Studies Certificate in Violin Performance at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. 

Sarah previously served on San Domenico's DEI Task Force and received the school's Distinguished Alumni Award in 2021. She is grateful for the many ways San Domenico has shaped her life and is excited to serve on the inaugural San Domenico Alumni Council.
 

Kimberly Shannon 2004 attended San Domenico Upper School. Currently, she is an SVP of Global Communications at Lazard, a financial advisory and asset management firm. She focuses on enhancing Lazard's intranet to better connect their global colleague community, modernizing Lazard's website to promote and strengthen their brand, and special initiatives that reinforce the firm’s culture.

Kimberly joined Lazard after over a decade at First Republic, an S&P 500 private bank and wealth management firm, where she held roles spanning personal banking, investor relations, program and project management in data and operations, and communications. Prior to that, she worked in the education and healthcare nonprofit sectors. 

She holds a BA in American Studies and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies from Trinity College and an executive education certificate from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.

She lives in New York with her husband and two daughters (5 years and 3 years), who are playground connoisseurs, "honorary" Museum of Natural History docents, and more likely to be spotted walking around Manhattan in elaborate costume than the characters in Times Square.
