Weekly Reflection May 22, 2023
Oak trees

I am someone who often gets stuck in my own thoughts. It takes going outside to remember that there is a whole world out there. And that world is really beautiful. When I go outside, I feel calmer and happier. My thoughts and worries fade. I return to a sense of presence.

Can you find a time to go outside this week? Perhaps take the newly created Awe Walk around campus. There is a great Buddhist saying: You should meditate for an hour every day. Except when you are too busy. Then you should meditate for two hours.

Our weekly reflection:

We depend on nature not only for our physical survival. We also need nature to show us the way home, the way out of the prison of our minds. We got lost in doing, thinking, remembering, anticipating; lost in a maze of complexity and a world of problems. We have forgotten what rocks, plants and animals still know. We have forgotten how to be – to be still, to be ourselves, to be where life is: here and now.

Eckhart Tolle

Have a wonderful (almost last) week!
With love,
Mirza
