Panther Spotlight: Baseball Wins Big with 21-10 Victory over Drew
Panther Spotlight: Baseball

Panthers Baseball beat Drew convincingly on Saturday, April 22 by a final score of 21-10. The game was marked by a dominant offensive performance from several key players stepping up to lead the charge, as well as some unbelievable plays. Will R. ’23 had a great game behind the plate and at bat, contributing 4 RBIs. “My secret to a great day at the plate was great heads-up baserunning from my teammates and seeing the pitcher well,” says Will.

It was an entertaining game featuring many exciting and unique plays. Aiden C. ’23 and Alex T. ’23 each hit in-the-park home runs, and Alex T. ’23 stole six bases on the day! However, the play of the day was something out of a movie. “I’ve never seen anything like it,” said Coach Hawkins after the game. “Two runners were trying to score on a ball to left field. The second runner was three feet behind the first. The relay was perfect, and Will put down the tag for one and two outs simultaneously to end the inning.”

The Panthers’ offense was on fire, with the team racking up an impressive 19 hits throughout the game. This strong performance bodes well for the rest of the season, as the team looks to build on this momentum and rack up victories on the diamond leading into this Friday’s game against Stuart Hall, followed shortly after by the NCS Playoffs. Swing by this Friday for the pregame bbq and a great evening of baseball!
