Students Cheering at Volleyball

On Saturday, our Women’s Varsity Volleyball team made it to the finals! Our Boarding program sent two-thirds of our on-campus students to the game to support our team as they played a strong game against an equally strong competitor. Although we lost Saturday’s match, we secured the second place spot, which is a monumental success and we are one step closer to unseating the winners next year! Boarding students brought signs and cheer to make sure our team knew we were supporting them the whole time. We returned to campus after the game in a rainy downpour, but not without a detour to Swirl for some frozen yogurt!.

Back on campus, students prepared meals together, as Aivn D. ’25 showed off his skills on the grill. Aivn is a returning boarding student and has been sharing his meals with other students and explaining how he learned to cook at home. He has a particular passion for the kitchen and has made different dishes for the new boarding students who miss some dishes from home. Meanwhile, students escaped the rain with movies and video games. West 1 has an ongoing 2K competition with a rotating group of students and competitors.

Boarding students enjoying a treat

On Sunday, students caught up on a lot of the work that has accumulated as the semester has continued. Many students, juniors in particular, had quite a workload ahead of them and needed some calm and quiet study time. Rainy days are perfect for this! Some students headed into town to restock on personal care items or grab some meals. And Enya L. ’25 and Arda K. ’24 treated us to some beautiful piano music in the Mercedes Classroom and West 1 Lounge.

Boarding Students enjoying a treat

The week began with rain and an extra hour to sleep in, thanks to the end of daylight savings time. Thanksgiving break is fast approaching, so many students were discussing their plans and travels. International students are pairing with day students to spend the night and learn about our Thanksgiving holiday, while others are returning home to see family and friends. It has been wonderful to see students getting to know one another and celebrate the season together.
