Dorm News: Looking Forward to Spring
Spring in the Dorms

Our weekend started off with a bang, as students began to get excited about our on-campus ‘Saturday Special’ event and Spring Discovery week. We organized a whole boarding crew event scheduled for Saturday, so students began preparing and discussing it on Friday. We had trips to Corte Madera Town Center, during which students purchased last-minute supplies for their Spring Discovery trips, including camping supplies for the ninth grade trip to Pinnacles National Park and outdoor adventures for the 10th, 11th, and 12th grades. On campus, students enjoyed time in the gym, both open gym and weight room, as well as practicing in HOTA.

Saturday was our on-campus event! Starting with a catered taco bar in the Garden of Hope, students gathered to share a meal, play games like oversized chess, and ride bikes together. From there, students enjoyed watching top-choice movie She’s the Man, a mid-2000s comedy and fan favorite for the Prefects! Afterwards, we had an inter-dorm competition in the gym where students could play dodgeball and/or cheer on their fellow floormates. After the event, students returned to the dorm to prepare for sleepovers in one another’s rooms or hangout sessions in the lounges.

Sunday gave students the chance to reset for the next week of classes, fun, and finally some sun! Resident Faculty and ‘Top Chef’ Matt Polsinello lead a cooking class for students to make Sushi Bake and share in the meal together. On Monday, we held our spring-themed Community Dinner. With assigned seating, students mixed it up by sitting with fellow students they might not know as well, and got to know new friends. The theme of spring echoed throughout the dinner, as students were encouraged to discuss what activities they are working on and how they are seeing their efforts coming to fruition. As the year progresses, we look forward to celebrating our graduating seniors and their legacy as the time approaches for them to leave San Domenico.

May your spring season be filled with joy and happiness!
