Dorm News: Fun in the Sun
Boarding students at the beach, practicing music, and in Mercedes

Cooking, beach visits, and social seminars were the highlights from our most recent week at San Domenico!

On Friday night, we kicked off the weekend by making pancakes, courtesy of Kris J. ’25 and friends! This delicious extravaganza featured a do-it-yourself pancake bar, complete with fresh fruit, maple syrup, chocolate chips, and whipped cream. On Saturday, Resident Faculty member Matt Polsinello returned to Mercedes kitchen, following his assistant coaching stint with our Men’s Varsity Basketball team. Chef Matt made pesto chicken paninis with Arda K. ’24, Zachary L. ’27, and Helen H. ’24. For students with a sweet tooth, Resident Faculty member Derek Yiu made boba in the evening, while we watched movies and relaxed around Mercedes Lounge. Other students dove into studying during open library hour, while others lifted weights, played hoops and badminton in the gym, or headed down to the Hall of the Arts to practice their musical instruments.

On Sunday, our beach-loving crew left for a beautiful sunny day at Stinson Beach, including Vesta J. ’25, Kris J., Tosia K. ’25, Ema P .’25, Natalie K. ’25, Jennie T. ’27, Fernanda P. ’26, and Paola E. ’27. We started the trip by stopping at Good Earth, a local natural foods store, for snacks and coffee, followed by a great day splashing in the waves, lounging in the sun, and playing beach volleyball. And best of all, spending time with friends!

The return of warm weather has inspired everyone to head outside, including Kris J., Liza K. ’26, Dylan S. ’25, and Sela F. ’24, who enjoyed some late night swimming in the pool. Our students are finishing up academic projects while making plans for Spring Discovery week and Spring Break, enjoying the great weather, and spending time with friends.
