Chloe Flynn ’23 Earns Global Citizens Initiative Fellowship
Chloe Flynn

We were thrilled to learn of Junior Chloe Flynn’s acceptance into a highly competitive global program run by Global Citizens Initiative. Chloe will enter into a 10-month Fellowship program which aims to equip young global citizens with the mindset, skills, and resources necessary to become effective and ethical global leaders. The first month of the Fellowship will be held at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland.

The acceptance committee wrote of Chloe’s application: “On behalf of Global Citizens Initiative, we are pleased to inform you that we have selected Chloe Flynn to participate in this year’s program! Our Admissions Committee was impressed by the caliber of their application, their great potential as a global leader and their desire to enact positive change in their community.”

“I am absolutely thrilled for this conference! Following the conference I will work for 9 months with my assigned mentor on a local project that will address one of the United Nations' sustainability goals. This will also be my ROSE project.

With the guidance and instruction provided at the conference, I hope to construct a sustainable project and bring about meaningful change in my community. Ideally, this project will tackle issues of inequity in my community while maintaining a broader focus on cultivating understanding and compassion.”

Chloe says she will identify her area of involvement as part of the initial part of the program. She is considering either homelessness or restorative justice. We wish Chloe all the best on her new adventure as a global citizen! Read about her local efforts on behalf of Marin’s homeless population here.

We’d also like to thank Dr. Jon Herzenberg, Associate Director of Upper School, who has collaborated with GCI in the past, and who connected the organization with Dean of Curriculum & Global Education, Natasha McKeown. They brought the application to Chloe’s attention, and Chloe took it from there!
