Alumni Weekend Returns to the SD Campus
Alumni Reunion Weekend

For the first time in three years, San Domenico recently welcomed Middle and Upper School alumni back to campus for Reunion Weekend, with generations of alumni coming together in joyful celebration of each other and of San Domenico’s enduring 172-year-old legacy.

The weekend began with a beautiful Evening Reception in the Presidio of San Francisco, where alumni enjoyed delicious food and cocktails, and reconnected with former and current SD faculty and staff. The festivities continued on Saturday with the Reunion Luncheon that included the honoring of our 2022 Distinguished Alumni Laurie Sweeney Doolittle ’77 and Outstanding Young Alumni Katherine Theiss-Nyland ’02. Our very own Head of School, Cecily Stock ’77, celebrated her 45th reunion together with her classmates!

Lily Cline ’22 and Kevin Leng ’22—both on the verge of transitioning from SD student to SD alum— took the stage to speak candidly of the positive and indelible impact San Domenico has had on their lives. Seeing these impressive teenagers so movingly embody our enduring values of excellence, inclusion, meaning, and purpose reminded us of what continues to set our school apart and filled us with hope for the future of all of our students.

The weekend closed with yet another special nod toward our future, as we gathered to celebrate the official Grand Opening of the Sister Gervaise Valpey Aquatics Complex. How truly unique and exceptional it was to have so many generations of SD community members—Middle and Upper School alumni, former and current trustees, parents, faculty, and staff—gathered together to share in this latest chapter of San Domenico’s story, a testament to our steadfast and continued heritage.

These shared moments of celebration remind us not only of our distinguished legacy, but also of the promise of a vibrant and thriving future for our School and for our students.
