Closing our concert season with an orchestra concert that both honors our graduating seniors and welcomes our youngest musicians on stage is a cherished Virtuoso Program tradition. This year’s performance was especially noteworthy as it also marked the first under the baton of our new VP Music Director Allie Simpson ’11.
“I was so proud of the extraordinary work the students put into this concert,” gushed Ms. Simpson. “The students poured out their hearts in the deeply emotional Barber Adagio and displayed electric virtuosity in Tchaikovsky's Serenade! Our two soloists, Brittney and Leandros, shone in their concertos, inspiring our Lower School collaborators with their skill and poise. It was an incredible night.”
What better way to end the year than by bringing all these students together on stage to share their talents and hard work with one another? Many thanks not only to Allie and Director of Music Rob DeNunzio, but to our Lower School strings teachers, Turi McClain and Amy Leung, for making this delightful collaboration possible.
