Big Apple, here we come!
Four SD student films have been accepted into the prestigious 2022 All American High School Film Festival (AAHSFF), which opens today in New York City.
Six Middle and Upper School students—Joaquin F. ’24, Eliza D. ’26, Audrey M. ’26, Jacob W. ’26, Brendan B. ’28, and Maddie W. ’28—are in NYC right now representing their fellow SD filmmakers.
Director of Digital Arts Harry Maxon and Head of School Cecily Stock will lead our students through a variety of events all weekend—from festival photo challenges and workshops, to trips through West Village cafes and Midtown museums, to seeing their films screened at the AMC Empire 25 Theater at Times Square, the busiest movie theater in the world—and they’ll be sharing it all on our SD Instagram so we can follow along on their adventures.
The festival culminates in Sunday’s Teen Indie Awards, the Oscars of the student film circuit. Our SD filmmakers will walk the red carpet, schmooze with peers and industry bigwigs, and cross their fingers for a major nomination.
