Paul Sanders
Head of School Paul Sanders joined San Domenico School in the 2024-25 academic year. Before SD, Paul served as head of school at Oslo International School in Norway, a leading international independent school with over 600 students from more than 50 countries in grades PreK-12. There, his leadership focused on fostering a culture of success within a diverse community, emphasizing operational excellence, student wellbeing, and faculty/staff development.
Paul began his career as an upper school English teacher and coach in Pennsylvania. He then spent eight years at Dwight School in New York City, where he taught English and philosophy before becoming the principal of the middle and upper schools. He later led the middle and upper schools at The International School of Amsterdam. In 2017, Paul became assistant head of school at The Episcopal Academy, a nationally recognized PreK-12 institution with 1,250 students outside of Philadelphia, where he served for four years before taking on his responsibilities in Norway.

Board of Trustees
The San Domenico School Board of Trustees is the guardian of the School’s mission. It is the Board’s responsibility to ensure that the mission is relevant and vital to the community it serves, and to monitor the success of the School in fulfilling its mission.
The Board focuses on three areas critical to the success of San Domenico:
- It selects, evaluates, and supports the Head of School, to whom it delegates authority to manage the School.
- It develops broad institutional policies that guide the Head in running the School.
- It is accountable for the financial well-being of the school.
The Board does not intervene in the daily affairs of the School, such as curriculum development and hiring, evaluating, or firing of faculty and staff. Concerns about those areas should be brought to school administrators.
Parents, guardians, faculty, and staff can stay informed about the work of the Board of Trustees by reading communications, talking to the Head of School, and attending Family Association meetings.
San Domenico’s Board of Trustees currently organizes itself into the following committees:
- Advancement Committee
- Audit Committee
- Committee on Trustees
- Executive Committee
- Finance Committee
- Investment Committee
- Master Planning & Facilities
- Mission Enhancement Committee
