Third Grade Spring Parables
Third Grade performing parables in the garden

Students in third grade have been learning stories about nature, seasons, planting seeds, and caring for our world. They read stories from Buddhism and Taoism, Judaism and Christianity, and Native American cultures.

After reading these stories, our students reflected on what these stories meant to them and each wrote their own interpretation. Then they acted out the stories in groups, choosing roles, planning out their parts, and even memorizing some of their lines. They rehearsed their plays with Mr. Khan, Ms. Baker, Ms. Charlton, and some of our tenth grade drama students.

On Thursday afternoon, we gathered in our Garden of Hope with the children and their families to present these plays, and celebrate the spring and another wonderful year in third grade.
