In the story of Noah’s Ark, people are acting selfishly, which leads to an environmental disaster. The sea levels are rising and all life is in danger. Most people don’t do anything to help. But one family builds the Ark to try to save as many animals as they can.
After reading this symbolic story, our class talked about some modern environmental issues. Each student researched and created a wonderful video news report. Take a look at some of these passionate young reporters:
After watching each other’s news videos, the class now has a very important decision: Which one of these environmental issues should we try to make better? Should we help our neighbors or those who live far away? Should we focus on issues that impact humans or those that impact animals, plants and the entire ecosystem?
As a class, they will vote to choose one environmental issue, which will become an ongoing project for our class. Stay tuned in the weeks to come for more information.
