Kristian hails from Melbourne, Australia. He completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Recreation Management at Victoria University and went on to complete Master of Teaching and Master of Education degrees at the University of Melbourne. As an educator he strives to nurture and enhance the development of critical thinking, growth mindset, and international mindedness in students. He has previously taught Sixth Grade and spent three years teaching Third Grade, before assuming the role of Associate Director of Lower School. He and his wife, Hailey, also a teacher at San Domenico, are also Resident Faculty members, and live on campus together with their children and dogs.
Always aiming to promote a love of books and a passion for reading, Kristian encourages students to openly discuss and share literature. He believes in inspiring and nurturing the development of students as global citizens who are empathetic, mindful and resilient. He is a collaborative practitioner who aims to establish a caring and open-minded learning environment. Kristian is a dedicated life-long learner who is always seeking professional development to enhance his teaching.

What makes a “good day” at school?
A "good day" at school is a day in which I feel like I have made a difference and when I get to spend time in the classrooms.
What is a favorite place in the world?
The beach
When do you feel joyful?
When I am with my family, when I am in the sun, when I can read a really good book
What is your ideal weekend?
Sunshine, ice cream, playing with my kids, a great movie/book
What are your “trapped on a desert island” books or movies?
Books: Matilda by Roald Dahl, The Power of One by Bryce Courtenay, Movies: The Shawshank Redemption, Stand By Me, The Goonies
What academic accomplishments have filled you with pride?
Receiving a Masters Degree in Education.
