Dorm News: Celebrating Lunar New Year

Lunar New Year Celebration Dinner

We recognize that for many of our students, Lunar New Year is the biggest holiday of the year. We realize it's difficult for our students to be away from their family and friends during this time of celebration. Keeping that in mind, we did our best to celebrate in the dorms through decorations, red envelope treats, two Lunar New Year-themed community dinners, as well as a special assembly during the school day featuring some of our boarding alumni speaking to us from college. Last Friday, many of our students gathered in Mercedes and made homemade pork dumplings!

On Saturday we traveled to Fisherman's Wharf, where students enjoyed being on the Bay and eating yummy food. This Saturday we will be taking a school bus to Union Square! We will spend a fun day in the heart of San Francisco, seeing the sights, eating lunch, and shopping. We will also have trips to San Rafael, San Anselmo, and of course, Red Hill to stock up on supplies for the week.

Next week is Spirit Week and we're looking forward to participating in our daily events, starting with Pajama Day on Monday!
