Last week’s parent/guardian Community & Connection Event - our first on-campus gathering in more than a year! - illustrated the excitement we all share as parents and guardians joined us for a chance to meet one another and celebrate the return of in-person events. For many families, this was their first opportunity to step foot on school grounds, and the renewed sense of togetherness was palpable.
We also held our annual Opening of School Community Reflection, when we take a moment to reflect on our common purpose as a community. This year’s reflection featured an uplifting collection of student musicians, dancers, and speakers who focused our thoughts on the importance of opening ourselves to new experiences throughout life, being aware of how these experiences may change us, and how we can support and love each other in the process, providing a strong foundation for our personal growth.
We had performances by MS dancers, LS student Kailash's stirring rendition of One Love, and Eighth-Grader Madeleine McKee shared these inspiring words—paraphrasing the poem, For A New Beginning, by John O’Donohue—during our Community Reflection:
"Though your destination is not yet known, you can trust the promise of beginning. Awaken your spirit to adventure; hold nothing back, let your heart guide you. Soon you will be home in a new rhythm."
We thank all the students, parents, guardians, faculty, and staff for a truly magical morning together. We look forward to more community gatherings in the near future! GO PANTHERS!
