PANTHER NEWS: From the Desk of the Athletic Director

Basketball Season in High Gear

This past week, our Women’s Varsity team —currently ranked 8th in the State for Division 5— kicked off league play by going 2-0 against Marin Academy and Urban. Our Men’s team lost a squeaker to Marin Academy by a single basket. Both teams play today, with the men away at Stuart Hall, and the women taking on Convent at home. Watch the women’s game live today at 5:30 pm at sandomenico.org/livesports!

Varsity Soccer Notches Season’s First League Win

After a tough loss to University while playing shorthanded, the Panthers came back strong with a big league win against Stuart Hall on Wednesday. With Stanley Ma in goal and a pair of goals from Vukasin Ragic, the team secured a 3-1 win that puts the team at 1-1 in league play. Next up is Lick Wilmerding at City College, today at 3:30 pm.

Panther Sports Broadcast Live Online

The pandemic has changed life in so many ways over the last two years. The silver lining for SD Athletics is that it pushed us to start live streaming our Varsity home games, so Panther fans can watch live online. Other schools in our league did the same last year, but we have an added advantage that sets San Domenico apart from the competition: our very own Coach Jeff Skaggs doing live play-by-play and color commentary for every game.

Jeff Skaggs Announcing Games for the Live Stream

Coach Skaggs knows the game of basketball as well as anyone in Marin. He has played at high levels and has coached all ages and abilities. He is a true fan of the sport and you will find him not only cheering at our own games, but also watching other teams play all over Marin. Jeff puts his knowledge and experience to work as our live one-man broadcast team, sharing commentary on the top players from each team as they drive the lane, grab a rebound, or create a turnover. Jeff adds life to the game and makes sitting at home almost as much fun as being in the stands. We are lucky to have Jeff behind the mic, offering his expert commentary for families and fans in Marin and around the Bay Area, as well as for families of our international players from around the world.

Currently, our league policy allows only home team parents and guardians to attend games. So make sure to tune in at sandomenico.org/livesports to catch Jeff calling the games. At this time, only SD is live streaming games. If any of our opponents stream our games when we’re the visiting team, we will share the link with you on gameday. And don’t forget to follow us on Instagram.

Go Panthers!
