Dodie Baker bring ten years of teaching experience with her to San Domenico. Most recently, Dodie taught fourth grade and was a Reading and Math intervention specialist at Manor School in Fairfax, CA. Dodie received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Ohio Wesleyan University in Politics and Government and Journalism. Dodie earned her California Teaching Credential and Master of Arts in Education with a multicultural emphasis from San Francisco State University. She loves teaching all kinds of learners and wants each child to celebrate their academic accomplishments in the classroom community. Dodie is trained in Reader's and Writer's workshop and loves seeing students take ownership and pride in their work. In the classroom, Dodie allows children to make choices, discover their individuality, and have fun completing projects across the curriculum. Dodie believes all children learn when they "grapple' with a concept, skill or idea. Outside of school, Dodie enjoys spending time with her husband, two children, and her Wheaten Terrier, Fergus. She also loves hiking, indoor cycling, skiing and music. Dodie is originally from New Jersey, and currently lives in San Anselmo.
"My favorite part of being a member of the San Domenico community is being a part of a school that is mindful, thoughtful, and helps students to realize their purpose"
