Biography
Dorie Akka is a San Francisco native with a passion for education and lifelong learning. After graduating from Lick Wilmerding High School and earning her Bachelor of Arts in Communications from UC Santa Barbara, Dorie pursued her Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and went on to teach both elementary and middle school at two local independent schools. After nearly 20 years of teaching and learning with inspirational educators and students alike, Dorie sought to apply her experience at the administrative level and earned her Master’s in Educational Leadership and Administration. Serving as the Director of Enrollment Management and Tuition Assistance at Marin Horizon School for three years ignited a love of working with prospective families and helping them discover the benefits of attending an independent school. Dorie is excited to focus on ushering prospective upper school students through the admissions process at San Domenico and to welcome the next generation of leaders to our beautiful school.
