Biography:

Kate has been an educator for over 20 years as both a teacher and administrator. She received her own high school education at Pomfret School, another noted independent boarding school. Kate has held positions in both private and public middle and high schools, including Jackson Hole Middle School, Jackson Hole High School, Essex High School in Vermont, as well as a variety of key positions right here at San Domenico. Since joining the SD community in 2004, Kate has served in several different roles, including Upper School English Teacher, Upper School Academic Dean, Upper School English Department Chair, K-12 Literacy Coordinator, 6-12 Humanities Department Chair, and Director of the Lower School. Currently, Kate serves as the Director of Upper School, in addition to her All School role as Director of Teaching and Learning. Both positions enable Kate to mentor, support, and facilitate best practice teaching, professional development, and K-12 engagement. Kate has served on many committees and working groups, both at SD and within the larger educational community. Most recently, she served on the San Domenico Strategic Planning Committee for SD2021. She is actively engaged in the national Mastery Transcript Consortium, which is committed to redefining the global metrics of achievement and student mastery in our rapidly evolving educational landscape. Kate is also a proud parent of two children, both of whom attend San Domenico!
