Mark Barrett is a Marin native, with 10 years of teaching experience. Prior to coming to San Domenico, Mark spent eight years teaching English and Art in Richmond and San Francisco. He most recently served as the English Department Chair and Upper School English teacher at The Adda Clevenger School in San Francisco. Mark has also spent the past five years tutoring middle school, high school, college, and graduate students for the SSAT, HSPT, ISEE, AP English, AP History, Algebra I tests, and a variety of university courses. After graduating from Whittier College, with a degree in English and Creative Arts, Mark taught English in France and worked as a writing consultant for undergraduate and graduate students at George Washington University where he completed his master’s in English Language and Literature, as a merit fellow in 2007. Outside of work, Mark enjoys fiction, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
