All School Athletic Director
Our All School Athletic Director, Dan Gilmartin, has an extensive career playing and coaching professional, collegiate and high school sports.
Gilmartin began his professional sports career as a ninth round draft-pick out of high school. He played professional baseball with the Milwaukee Brewers organization for over five years. He set a Milwaukee Brewers Minor League record in 1981, when he played all nine positions in a single game while a member of the Stockton Ports Advanced A club in the California League. Gilmartin then went on to play collegiate sports at Sonoma State University. As a member of their track team he holds the record as the school’s third best javelin thrower of all-time.
Gilmartin’s collegiate coaching experience includes three years as the assistant coach of the baseball team at Sacramento City College under Hall Of Fame Coach Jerry Weinstein. His team compiled a record of 143-16, three CCCAA league titles, and placed second in CCCAA standings for all three years.
His high school coaching experiences include five years as head baseball coach at The Buckley School in Southern California from 1994 through 1999. Under Gilmartin’s direction, his team won the Liberty League Championship and qualified three consecutive times for the Division V SSCIF baseball playoffs. Gilmartin also was the head baseball coach at Milken Community High School from 2003-2005, where he led the Wildcats to their first ever Division V SSCIF Baseball playoffs in 2005.
Gilmartin has coached over 30 players that have gone on to play either baseball at the professional or collegiate level. His nephew Sean Gilmartin is currently pitching for the New York Mets. He has been honored two times as Coach of the Year, one for baseball and one for cross-country.
Dan holds a Masters in Science in Physical Education from Sacramento State and is a C.A.A (Certified Athletic Administrator).

Director of Basketball Operations
Coach Mike Fulton is a full time faculty member. He is the Director of Basketball Operations at San Domenico. A native of Marin, Coach Fulton played basketball at Drake High, College of Marin, and Cal Lutheran University. He has coached at Terra Linda High School, The Branson School, and also led the College of Marin Women's Basketball program to the state playoffs six out of seven years in his tenure as head coach. With 20 years of basketball experience, Coach Fulton is recognized as one of the best coaches in Northern California. Mike also teaches physical education to 6-8 grade students and coaches the middle school boys' and girls' Flag Football, Cross County, and Track Teams.

Upper School Soccer Head Coach
David brings a wealth of soccer experience to San Domenico. A former professional International soccer player, played for AEP Paphos FC in Cyprus Greece 1st Division, and United Arab Emirate League 1st Division. Coach Briceno, led Santa Rosa Junior College to their only California State Championship in 2002 and was the leading goal scorer with 18 goals that season. He is the founder of Briceno Soccer Club and the Director of Coaches. Currently, is the Cal North ODP Head Coach and our Varsity Head Soccer Coach for our girls program and will be heading our boys program. He is an excellent teacher, and works with all ability levels to make them better soccer players.
Girls Basketball Head Coach
Stephanie is the Director of Girls' Basketball for NBBA and coaches the elite high school travel team. She played basketball at Dominican University, Cal State San Bernardino, and finished her last two years at Sonoma State. Going through three different programs with three different coaching philosophies developed Stephanie's passion to be a coach. She has coached all levels and formerly the Head Girls' Basketball Coach at The Branson School. Stephanie still plays whenever she can, and is a huge fan of the Golden State Warriors.
Upper School Cross Country Head Coach
Mark is currently the Dean of Students in the Middle School. Coach Churchill is a distance runner with career highlights that include winning the Vermont State Championships four years in a row, earning the New England State Championship, and becoming a Foot Locker National Finalist his senior year. He also won six state championships in track and field. After competing for Iona College and qualifying for the NCAA championships with his team, Coach Churchill set his sights on coaching. With 16 years of experience in coaching cross country, track and field, and cross country skiing, he has been a part of 16 team state championships and over 20 individual state championships. Coach Churchill is a board member of the Tamalpa Runners. He is co-founder of the youth running program Tamalpa Bobcats and Race Director for the Remembrance Run race in Vermont, held annually to raise money to fund scholarships. Coach Churchill still competes in road races. His greatest joy is seeing his former athletes continue to run and compete after college.
Upper School Volleyball Head Coach
This will be Nicole's first season as Head Varsity Coach at San Domenico. Please look at her outstanding career and background. 2014-15: Appeared in 36 matches, including 30 starts…Honorable Mention All-UAA…NYU Violet Classic Most Outstanding Player (9/19-20)…led the team in kills, points, points per set, hitting percentage, and blocks…notched double-digit kills eight times, including a career-high-tying and match-best 15 vs. Fredonia St. (9/13)…recorded three or more blocks 11 times, including a career-best eight vs. Brandeis (11/8). 2013-14: Played in all 36 matches, starting 30…NCAA All-Region Team…Labor Day All-Invitational Team (8/30-31)…finished second on the team in blocks and third in kills…notched double-digit kills on seven occasions, including a career-high 15 vs. Case Western Reserve (11/9)…recorded three or more blocks 11 times, including a season-high five four times. 2012-13: Appeared in all 34 matches, 24 as a starter…led the team in blocks and ranked third in kills…Violet Classic All-Tournament Team (9/21-22)…recorded double-digit kills on four occasions, including a season-high 13 vs. Elmira (11/10)…tallied three or more blocks 16 times, reaching a career-best five vs. North Park (9/22) and Stevens Tech (10/10). High School: Four-year team member and two-year captain…team MVP her sophomore, junior and senior years…First Team All-League as a sophomore, junior and senior…Second Team All-League as a freshman.

Upper School Mountain Biking Head Coach
A native to Marin County, Robin grew up surrounded by the beauty of the outdoors that Marin has to offer. She first explored the trails through running, but soon discovered that you can see so much more on a bike. Once she started mountain biking, she never looked back. She knows the Marin trail network like the back of her hand. Any chance that she gets to ride, she takes it! Through mountain biking, Robin met her husband Vernon. Over the last twelve years, they traveled all over the US, Costa Rica, and Europe to ride their bikes together. Their shared passion for the sport led them to start the San Domenico team in 2013. San Domenico became the first and only all girls high school mountain bike team in the entire country!

Rob brings a wealth of knowledge to the San Domenico School Tennis Program. He has more than 20 years experience of coaching and teaching at Ross Valley Tennis Club. He was born and raised in Kentfield, California and began playing tennis at the age of six playing on many teams and matches as a Junior. Jessen went on to play tennis for the Menlo College Tennis Team playing both singles and doubles. He has served as a USTA Area Training Center Coach and has coached the USTA National Boys 12 Zone Teams in Arizona. His passion and dedication for the game of tennis has helped many players of all levels reach their fullest potential. He enjoys working with juniors and adults that also share a passion for tennis. He teaches privates, junior clinics, high school workouts and coaches men's and women's teams.

Badminton Head Coach
Julie Lanzarin attended Tamalpais High School, College of Marin, and Dominican College. She has been a member of the Marin Athletic Foundation Hall of Fame since 1998 (holding the record for most points scored in one basketball game, more than 50 points). She’s been coaching (basketball, volleyball, and badminton), at various schools in Marin since 1980, including Tamalpais HS, Branson, Drake, and San Domenico. For the last two year after a short break has been heading our Varsity Badminton program and was in charge of hosting the BAC League finals this past year. She also has helped the athletic program by doing all that she can to help by coaching our Varsity and JV Volleyball programs.She became the Varsity Volleyball coach, in 2008. She was fortunate to have Ed Chavez as a teacher, mentor, and friend who taught her valuable coaching lessons early in her career. She was the Assistant Athletic Director at The Branson School, for nearly 10 years, and worked at the YMCA for nine years as a Youth Fitness Instructor, Program Coordinator, and the Coordinator of the Youth Court Program. She began working at San Domenico as a volleyball coach at a summer camp, called Camp Unique. She inquired about becoming a Resident Faculty member and in 2012, she moved on campus and became the Coordinator of Resident Life. This is her fifth year as a Resident Faculty member.

Upper School Golf Head Coach
Sherman has been an avid player and believer of the values, traditions, and lessons learned from over 30 years of enjoying golf. Sherman coached the Head-Royce School varsity golf team from 2002 - 2005 and is the current Head Coach for San Domenico Girls and Drake HS Boys teams. He brings his passion to each and every class, and he has high hopes of growing the game of golf in Marin County for all to enjoy. Leland, a 1984 graduate of the Mount Tamalpais School for boys in Ross (now part of the Branson School), owns TGA Premier Junior Golf of the North Bay.

Summer Camp Coordinator
He has been a faculty member and coach for over ten years at San Domenico. Jeff Skaggs grew up in Fairfax, attended St. Rita School, was a Marin Catholic player, and later went on to be a player and coach at Southern Utah University. He is the founder and director of San Domenico Basketball Camps, is a current AAU and CYO coach, and is a charter member of the Positive Coaching Alliance.
Swim Team Head Coach
Gadi Shamah received a Bachelors of Arts from Dominican University in San Rafael, California. A native of Marin County, Gadi has strong connections to the swimming community in the area. Gadi swam with the Marin Pirates, Marin Water Polo and at Terra Linda High School. After serving in the US Marine Corps, Gadi returned to swimming as a coach and mentor. Gadi has over twelve years of coaching experience and an ASCA Level 4/3 certification. He is rated in the top 15% of coaches nationally. Gadi has spent the majority of his professional career coaching multiple levels, including Learn-to-Swim programs, Head Coaching Summer League programs, Head Coaching for Drake High School (4th place at NCS 2006), two years coaching U.S. National Qualifiers at Marin Pirates, interning with Australian National and Olympic Trials Qualifiers, Head Coach at the Presidio Aquatic Club, Head Coach of Piranha Swimming a year round USA Swim Team. Gadi was most recently the Director of Aquatics and Manager of a premier swim and tennis club in San Francisco. Gadi lives in Kentfield with his wife, Sarah, and two sons, Nicos and Teodor. Both boys are avid swimmers.
