Create a Ravenna Account (required)
If you haven’t already done so, please create an account in Ravenna, an online tool we use for applicant inquiries, admissions event registration, and admissions applications. Once in Ravenna, create a profile for each student applicant.
On the Ravenna dashboard, click on the “Apply to a School” button, which will lead you to the School Directory. Once there, search for San Domenico and click on the “Apply” button; please note that clicking the "Apply" button doesn't require you to complete the application, but allows you to register for our admissions events.
If students prefer to submit their applications via SAO, this is perfectly fine. However, we ask that students complete a Ravenna student profile because all San Domenico admission notifications are sent through Ravenna. There is no charge to complete a student profile on Ravenna.
Register for Admissions Events (strongly recommended)
We host a variety of virtual events (across different time zones) so that international families can learn more about San Domenico. Click here to learn more about our events, and register for events.
Phone Call with a Member of our Admissions Team (optional)
If you have questions about San Domenico and/or the admission process, please schedule a phone or Zoom call with Colleen Bertiglia, our Associate Director of International Admissions. She would be happy to answer your questions and guide you through the next steps.
Request Recommendations From Your Teachers (required)
San Domenico requires recommendation forms from the student’s current Administrator/Guidance Counselor, math teacher, and English teacher. These forms can be sent to your counselor/teachers directly through Ravenna.
Request Official Transcripts from Your School (required)
Applicants to Grades 9–11 are required to submit official transcripts. If you are applying to ninth grade, please include your middle school grades, including the first semester of your current school year. If you are a transfer student, please include two full years of transcripts and the first semester of your current school year.
You can send the Bay Area Common HS Transcript Release Form located in Ravenna to your school authorizing them to send transcripts directly to San Domenico. We appreciate having your transcripts translated into English whenever possible.
Schedule a Student Interview
Virtual student interviews are required and are approximately 30 minutes in length. They are designed for applicants to learn more about SD and for our admissions committee to get to know our applicants better. Once you have completed your student inquiry on Ravenna and started your application, you can schedule your admissions interview. Note, that interview slots fill up fast.
Applicants from Mainland China are also required to interview with Vericant, our affiliate in China. Follow the Vericant link to learn more about what to expect, and how to schedule this interview.
Submit Admissions Application and Payment by January 6, 2022 (required)
Submit completed parts of the application form which include the Student Application for Grades 9-12, the Supplemental Common Student Essay, the Parent/Guardian Statement, the Student Activity and Interest Form, and the San Domenico Student Questions. You will be asked to pay a $100 application fee when you submit your application.
English Proficiency Testing for International Students, Grades 9-12
An English proficiency test is required for all international students applying to San Domenico. We prefer the TOEFL exam, (all forms), but we will accept the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) exam or Duolingo. Our school code for the TOEFL is 0897. IELTS and Duolingo do not have school codes. You can submit your official scores directly to admissions@sandomenico.org
IMPORTANT For the 2022-23 school year, with the exception of standardized English testing, San Domenico will not require SSAT testing.
