Assignment Guidelines
Topic: For the Egypt Research Assignment you will choose from the list of possible topics (see link) or choose your own topic related to Ancient Egypt (must be approved by teacher).
Format
The research assignment includes: a written paper, a visual or digital project and an oral presentation:
Written Paper (5-7 paragraphs): It may be an essay (in MLA format) or paragraphs integrated into the project. Each paragraph should include a topic sentence, 3-5 supporting sentences and a concluding sentence.
- Introduction: Background and general information about the topic
- Content: 3-5 paragraphs about your topic
- Significance: Why is your topic important? How did it impact daily life in ancient Egypt?
Project: Must be approved by teacher
- 3-D Visual Project (ex: poster board, mummified object, tomb, game, cross-section of a pyramid)
- Digital Project (ex. travel brochure, newspaper, video)
Slide Show Presentation: Google Slides, Keynote, Powerpoint, Prezi, etc. 5-7 slides to represent each paragraph
- Three minute oral presentation to class
- Each slide must have one or two visuals
- Each slide must have a heading and bullet points (no complete sentences)
Citing your Sources
Each project will include a works cited page using Citation Machine.
