Biography

Doris Brown joined San Domenico in 2006 with more than 19 years of teaching experience in secondary school sciences and 15 years of scientific research experience, attained while earning two advanced degrees in biology and working as a postdoctoral fellow and research scientist at the University of California San Francisco. She holds an M.S. in Biology, a Ph.D. in Genetics and Development, as well as an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction. During her scientific research years, she studied embryonic development in mice using molecular genetic, transgenic and stem cell technologies. Since joining San Domenico, she has taught conceptual physics, advanced placement biology, biology, anatomy and physiology, and forensic science in the Upper School.
